Bengalpea

My third creature made for Terryl Whitlatch’s Creature Anatomy class on Schoolism. This creature was made by combining feline and bird animals. Throughout the process I unconsciously started lining out all the black stripes which took a lot of time and made the entire piece very sketch looking.
The sketch page below are studies of photos and work of other artists before I started designing the creature. I feel animal anatomy is still pretty though and incorporating peacock’s feathers in the design was quite challenging too.
